California Tomato Growers Association, Inc.  
Announces Resignation of COO John Welty 
 
STOCKTON, CA, August 7, 2003 – The California Tomato Growers Association today announced that John Welty has tendered his resignation, effective August 31, 2003, as Executive Vice President , to pursue other interests. A search has begun for a new COO, and in the interim, Don Cameron, board chairman, will take over all responsibilities as temporary COO. Mr. Cameron is General Manager of Terranova Ranch and has grown tomatoes in California for over a decade.

“We appreciate the many years of valuable service that John has provided to the CTGA and wish him well in the future,” said Chuck Cox, past chairman of the CTGA. “He has been an important part of the California tomato industry and the value it brings to its members.”

The California Tomato Growers Association, Inc., a grower owned Association headquartered in Stockton, Calif., has been dedicated to representing the interests of processing tomato growers statewide for over half a century. CTGA provides economic, public policy and business leadership for the benefit of growers and the industry. Its member services include bargaining, communications and advocacy to ensure the stability, viability and prosperity of the industry.
